Name:
Devil-Horned Cyphaspis Age: Devonian Formation: AM Limestone Location: Morocco Size: Trilobite is about 0.9 inches long Price:SOLD
Here is a striking spiny trilobite. This is a very robust "Devil-Horned" Cyphaspis from Morocco. This specimen was recently acquired from the famous Chance Collection. It is obvious how this type got its name - it has two long spines protruding from the glabella. This specimen has these spines still intact, and they were prepared in a free-standing manner. Along with the two nose spines, this large specimen has two long genal spines and an extremely long axial spine - the axial spine has been prepared free-standing and is beautifully displayed. This trilobite is prone, very well articulated, and extremely detailed. The dark trilobite contrasts wonderfully with the light-grey matrix. This is a very fine specimen of this distinct spiny trilobite direct from the Chance Collection.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
