Name:
Ceratonurus sp. Age: Lower Devonian Formation: Haragan Formation Location: Coal County, Oklahoma Size: Trilobite is 1.6 inches long Price:SOLD
This is a very spiny US trilobite. It is a distinct Ceratonurus sp. from the Devonian of Oklahoma. This specimen was recently acquired from the Eugene Thomas Collection. This type of trilobite has extremely thin genal spines and occipital spines, which have been meticulously prepared in a free-standing manner on this specimen. The bug is inflated and exhibits wonderful detail. Many of the long, flowing pleural spines are beautifully showcased, and even the tiny ''fringes'' of the tail are intact. The caramel-colored trilobite contrasts strikingly with the light-colored matrix plate. The bug is very well showcased on the sculpteded block of limestone. This is a very displayable example of one of the most sought-after spiny trilobites from Oklahoma.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
