Name:
Chotecops sp. Age: Devonian Formation: Hunsruck Shale (Bundenbach) Location: Bundenbach, Germany Size: Trilobite is 1.8 inches as shown Price:SOLD
Here is a beautifully enrolled Chotecops sp. from the slate quarries of Bundenbach, Germany. The site where these bugs have been found for decades is now closed, and the only way to obtain these classic specimens is through the dispersal of old collections. This is one of those specimens. This trilobite is much more 3-dimensional than most bugs from this site. The trilobite is wonderfully articulated and complete - the fossil is so 3-D, the other side of the bug protrudes out from the back side of the plate! BOTH large compound eyes are clearly defined and easily seen. The trilobite is well showcased on the large plate of roofing slate. This is a very collectible example of Chotecops from this world-famous site.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
