Name:
Subasaphus platyurus Age: Middle Ordovician Formation: Asery Level Location: Near St. Petersburg, Russia Size: Trilobite is almost 4 inches long! Price:$625.00
Here is an excellent example of an unusual trilobite. This is a large Subasaphus platyurus from the Ordovician of Russia. It is easy to see the differences between this type and the more common Russian Asaphids - this type has long genal spines, for example. This trilobite is extremely 3-dimensional and wonderfully articulated. The bug is quite prone and exhibits very fine detail. The sweeping genal spines are beautifully displayed, and the large eyes are easily seen. The thick-shelled exoskeleton has great natural color - it is a dark caramel with natural highlights. The trilobite is well positioned on the large, buff-colored block of sculpted limestone. This is a very displayable specimen of this highly collectible trilobite.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
