Name:
Chotecops sp. Age: Devonian Formation: Hunsruck Shale (Bundenbach) Location: Bundenbach, Germany Size: Larger Chotecops is 3.1 inches long Price:$395.00
Here is a rare, natural double Chotecops sp. from the slate quarries of Bundenbach, Germany. The sites where these bugs have been found for decades are now closed, and the only way to obtain these classic specimens is through the dispersal of old collections. This is one of those specimens. It is unusual to find a nice trilobite from Bundenbach, but nice natural double is almost never unearthed. These trilobites are much more 3-dimensional than most bugs from this site. The trilobites is wonderfully articulated and exhibit very fine detail - both bugs are clearly defined. The trilobites are wonderfully showcased on the large (15 inches long!) plate of roofing slate. This is a very collectible pair of Chotecops from this world-famous site.
A Certificate of Authenticity from EXTINCTIONS is included with this specimen.
