Here is a very scarce trilobite from the Silurian. This is Radnoria sp. from the Rochester Shale of New York. The trilobite is wonderfully prone and very nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are intact. This specimen is more inflated than most and has very thick exoskeleton. The bug exhibits great detail. The eyes are easily seen and the broad, flat brim of the pygidium is very evident. The genal spines extend almost to the pygidium and terminate in sharp points. The Radnoria is nicely centered on the large plate of matrix. There is also a partial Bumastus ioxus trilobite and many 3-dimensional bryozoans on the plate. The fossils have good color and contrast. This is one of the nicest examples of this rare trilobite that we have seen.
