Here is a very nice specimen of Bumastus ioxus from the Silurian of New York. This trilobite is quite large for the species. The bug is very prone and nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The trilobite is inflated and exhibits fine detail. The eyes are easily seen and the thoracic segments are very distinct. The fossil has great color and contrast. It is well positioned on the natural plate of shale. This is a very displayable example of Bumastus ioxus from the Rochester Shale.
