This is a very aesthetic specimen of Phacops speculator from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite is outstretched and beautifully articulated. The bug is very inflated and displays fine detail. The individual lenses of the eyes are easily seen and the coarse granulations on the glabella are quite evident. This trilobite has gorgeous thick exoskeleton. The naturally dark fossil contrasts nicely with the lighter-colored matrix. This prone trilobite is almost perfectly centered on the somewhat rounded block of limestone. This is a very pretty specimen of Phacops speculator.
