Here is an excellent Chinese trilobite. This is a large Yuepingia sp. from the Lower Ordovician. Many of the specimens of this trilobite, that we have seen, do not have the calcitic exoskeleton well preserved. This specimen exhibits thick "shell" material. This trilobite is wonderfully prone and very nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The inflated bug displays fine detail. The crescent-shaped eyes are easily seen and the swooping genal spines are quite evident. The trilobite has great natural color and contrasts well with the matrix. It is beautifully centered on the somewhat rectangular block of limestone. This is a very displayable specimen of Yuepingia from China.
