This is a great specimen of Isotelus mafritzi from the Ordovician of Canada. The trilobite is very prone and wonderfully articulated. The specimen is extremely inflated and exhibits fine detail. The eyes protrude high above the sleek carapace of the trilobite. The long, slender genal spines are prominently displayed. The preservation of the thick exoskeleton is remarkable. The dark brownish-black color of the trilobite contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. The fossil is almost perfectly centered on the rectangular block of limestone. This is a very displayable specimen of an Isotelus mafritzi from Canada.
