This is an excellent specimen of Flexicalymene granulosa from the Ordovician of Canada. The trilobite is extremely 3-dimensional and beautifully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. This ancient arthropod is perfectly enrolled and exhibits superb detail. The granulose texture of the thick exoskeleton is wonderfully displayed. Please look at the blow-up picture to see this incredible detail. This trilobite has been prepared to show the entire thorax and pygidium on the reverse side. The fossil has great color and contrast. It is nicely perched on the natural piece of matrix. This is an exquisite example of the "bumpy" Flexicalymene granulosa.
