This is a great specimen of two different Lower Devonian trilobites from Oklahoma. It is very unusual to find two trilobites in such close proximity to each other, from any location, let alone this famous site. There are even pieces of a third genus (Huntonia) on the plate. The nonspiny trilobite at the top is Paciphacops campbelli. This trilobite is very inflated and somewhat enrolled. The lenses of the eyes are easily seen and the finely granulated surface of the exoskeleton is nicely displayed. The spiny trilobite at the bottom is Kettneraspis williamsi. This trilobite is wonderfully articulated - both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The "fringes" on the free cheeks are readily apparent. The long genal spines and pleural spines are beautifully exhibited. This trilobite even has long spines, of unequal length, emanating from the pygidium. The fossil arthropods have great color and contrast. They are nicely positioned on the large plate of limestone. This is a very collectable trilobite specimen from the Haragan Formation.
