Here is a very nice specimen of Reedops deckeri from the Haragan Formation of Oklahoma. This trilobite is almost perfectly enrolled - it displays no crushing or lateral compression like many enrolled specimens of this species. The bug is very inflated and nicely articulated. The large eyes are well displayed and the finely granulose nature of the exoskeleton is preserved. The caramel-brown color of the trilobite contrasts beautifully with the cream-colored matrix. The fossil is nicely perched on the block of limestone. This is an excellent enrolled Reedops from the Lower Devonian of Oklahoma.
