This is a fabulous example of an unusual spiny trilobite. It is a pristine "Devil-Horned" Cyphaspis from Morocco. This specimen was prepared under a microscope in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab, as are all of our Moroccan trilobites. It is obvious how this type got its name - it has two long spines protruding from the glabella. This specimen has these spines intact, and they were prepared free-standing. Along with the two nose spines, this large specimen has two long genal spines and a LONG axial spine that is also free-standing. The eyes and pustules on the cephalon also display beautifully. And this specimen is 100% natural - no restoration whatsoever! This is an immaculate example of this bizarre spiny trilobite.
