Here is an excellent specimen of an uncommon trilobite. This is Cryphina sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. The trilobite is very prone and wonderfully articulated. This very inflated specimen preserves exquisite detail. The large compound eyes are near perfect - the individual lenses are beautifully displayed. The short, pointed anterior spine and the broad genal spines are easily seen. The black color of the bug contrasts very nicely with the pinkish matrix. This specimen is well presented on the large, sculpted block of limestone. This is not just a fantastic trilobite, it is a piece of art.
