This is an interesting trilobite. It is a juvenile example of Flexicalymene granulosa from the famous Ordovician site of Swatara Gap, Pennsylvania. This site is famous for Cryptolithus trilobites. Other trilobites from this site are very scarce. This trilobite is outstretched and well articulated. It appears to have the tiny free cheeks present. The limonitic orange colored bug contrasts nicely with the greenish matrix. It is well centered on the natural plate of shale. There is also a partial Flexicalymene and an impression of a brachiopod on the plate of matrix. This is a very unique example of a juvenile Flexicalymene from Pennsylvania.
