Now here is a bug with character! It is a beautiful Dicranurus monstrosus from Morocco. This specimen was prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Preparation Lab using a microscope and fine air abrasive tools. This trilobite is complete with both free cheeks intact and tight. The bug is curling around the matrix block, so the horns and pleural spines were prepared free-standing for optimal presentation. The trilobite's thick shell exoskeleton is a beautiful dark brown color, which contrasts well with the lighter shaded matrix. And this bug is HUGE - about 4 inches long around the curve. If you are looking for a museum quality Dicranurus monstrosus that doubles as a unique artistic display piece, this is the one.
