This is an exceptional specimen of Olenellus chiefensis from the Lower Cambrian of Nevada. The preservation is superb. The long, crescent-shaped eyes are quite visible, and the telson (tailspine) is complete and tightly attached. The detail on the body of the trilobite is terrific. The trilobite contrasts beautifully with the light-colored matrix. And the trilobite is well centered on the squared plate of matrix. This is one of the more displayable specimens of Olenellus chiefensis that we have seen.
