This is a gorgeous specimen of Kettneraspis williamsi from the Devonian of Oklahoma. The trilobite is inflated and wonderfully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The free cheeks display the "fringed" borders. The eyes of the trilobite are easily seen. The long, sweeping genal spines and pleural spines are complete to the very tips. The dark, caramel-colored fossil contrasts well with the cream-colored matrix. The trilobite is almost perfectly positioned in the center of a squared block of matrix. This is a "testbook" example of Kettneraspis from the Haragan Formation.
