This is a very rare trilobite. It is a Pseudobasilica from Russia. This is only the second specimen of this type we have had. This type has a round head, small eyes, pointed genal spines, and a large fan-tail. This specimen exhibits all these features beautifully. The trilobite is very well articulated and nicely outstretched. It is well positioned on the natural matrix plate. There is also a complete, arched Neoasaphus kowalewskii (with great stalked eyes!) on the slab. This is a fabulous example of this rare Russian trilobite - the best we've ever had of this type.
