Name:

This is a very aesthetic specimen of Phacops speculator from the Devonian of Morocco. This is a natural double specimen. Both trilobites are extremely inflated and wonderfully articulated. The fossils are complete and have great detail. The individual lenses of the eyes are easily seen. The wider-bodied trilobite has very coarse pustules on the glabella. The other trilobite appears to have a narrower body type. This specimen has very fine pustules on the glabella. Perhaps this condition represents sexual dimorphism of the trilobites! The trilobites have excellent color and contrast. They are well displayed on the sculpted block of matrix. This is a very displayable specimen of Phacops speculator from Morocco.
