This is fabulous example of an unusual Moroccan trilobite. It is a large Neometacanthina sp. from Morocco. This specimen is slightly different than the usual Neometacanthina - it was found in a different zone. This type has tiny eyes, long genal spines, and many long tail spines. Although there is some restoration on the nose, the preservation of the thick shell exoskeleton is excellent. The detail is exquisite, and the natural coloration is simply beautiful. The bug is almost perfectly centered on the rounded matrix plate. And at over two inches long, it is HUGE for this type. This is easily the best preserved and most displayable specimen of this type we have seen.
