This is a super specimen of Isotelus mafritzi from the Ordovician of Canada. The specimen is extremely inflated. Usually, the Isotelus from Canada display some compression of the exoskeleton. There is no "crushing" of this specimen. The preservation of the exoskeleton is remarkable. This trilobite exhibits very fine detail. The eyes are very prominent. The genal spines are nicely displayed. The trilobite has great color and contrast. It is well centered on a somewhat irregular plate of matrix. This is a very "clean" specimen of Isotelus from Canada.
