We have seen very few specimens of this trilobite. This is a "true" Greenops from the Devonian of Morocco. One can easily see that it is not a Metacanthina or a Neometacanthus. The trilobite is somewhat sway-backed and nicely articulated. It is preserved in a 3-dimensional manner and reveals fine detail. The individual facets of the large eyes are quite noticeable. The pygidial lappets are nicely displayed. The trilobite has been prepared so that the tips of the broad genal spines are free-standing. The fossil has great color and contrast. It is well presented on the rounded plate of limestone. This is a very nice specimen of a very unusual trilobite from Morocco.
