This is a very spiny trilobite from Morocco. It is a Drotops armatus from Morocco. This is the "Spiny Phacops" that everyone is talking about. This specimen has many rows of free-standing spines growing off of the head, body, and tail. This specimen had some spines missing, so we microscopically restored the missing spines to make the appearance uniform. The compound faceted eyes are beautiful - the individual lenses are nearly perfect. The trilobite is very 3-D and sits up on the large matrix plate. This is a very displayable example of this large Moroccan "Spiny Phacops".
