This is an exceptional specimen of Metacanthina barrandei from the Devonian of Morocco. The trilobite is EXTREMELY 3-dimensional and beautifully articulated. The specimen exhibits incredible detail. The large compound eyes are near perfect. The individual lenses are easily seen. The genal spines have been prepared in a free-standing manner. The trilobite has excellent natural color and terrific contrast. It is well centered on the rounded block of matrix. Quite simply, this Metacanthina is as good as it gets.
