This is a very nice specimen of an unidentified Proetid trilobite from the Devonian of Morocco. This is only the second specimen of this trilobite that we have seen. There is no mistaking that this is a Proetid of some type. However, the large, bulbous glabella is not granulose like most Proetus. It appears smooth, but under magnification, it does exhibit some very slight reticulations. The trilobite is slightly contraflexed and very inflated. It is nicely articulated and exhibits fine detail. It has great color and contrasts well with the light-colored matrix. It is positioned on a somewhat rounded block of limestone. This is a very displayable specimen of this "new" Proetid trilobite from Morocco.
