This is a large specimen of Reedops maurulus. This sleek-looking trilobite is from the Devonian of Morocco. The specimen is extremely inflated and very nicely articulated. There is a slight arch to the specimen so it appears to be "crawling off the rock". The trilobite has been prepared so that it is quite elevated above the matrix. The trilobite exhibits fine detail. The dark grayish-black color of the trilobite contrasts nicely with the lighter-colored matrix. It is positioned on a rounded block of limestone. This is a very displayable Reedops from Morocco.
