This is a large specimen of Dalmanites limulurus from the Silurian of New York. The trilobite is prone and very nicely articulated. The specimen has fine compound eyes. The individual lenses of the eyes are easily seen. The long genal spines and the caudal spine are nicely displayed. The specimen has excellent color and contrast. It is well positioned on a semi-rectangular plate of matrix. Doug acquired this specimen September 15, 1993, and it has been in his collection ever since. This is a very fine display specimen of this "classic" trilobite from New York.
