Here is a very attractive trilobite. This is Odontochile spinifera from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite differs from the more common Odontochile hausmanni by having a pustulose exoskeleton. This trilobite is wonderfully prone and beautifully articulated . The specimen displays very fine detail. The large compound eyes are near perfect. The individual lenses of the eyes are easily seen. The long, sweeping genal spines extend to the pygidium. The trilobite has unusual, natural brown color and contrasts nicely with the lighter-colored matrix. The trilobite sits on a large, rounded plate of matrix. This is a great specimen of this scarce species of Odontochile.
