This is a nice specimen of Crotalocephalina sp. from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite should not be confused with the much more common Crotalocephalus. Crotalocephalina, unlike Crotalocephalus, has long pygidial spines. This specimen is slightly arched. The cephalon is positioned downward at a slight angle to the thorax. The pygidium is tucked sharply downward. The trilobite is nicely articulated and very 3-dimensional. It exhibits fine detail. The small eyes of the trilobite are prominently displayed. The pleuron tips come to a sharp point. The fossil has great color and contrast. It is well positioned on the somewhat rounded block of limestone. This is a very good specimen of this unusual genus of trilobite.
