Here is a classic trilobite from England. This is a huge specimen of Ampyx linleyensis from the Ordovician. The trilobite exhibits excellent detail. The broad, triangular cephalon even preserves part of the glabellar spine. This trilobite is very nicely articulated and is well centered on a large, natural plate of matrix. Often, the Ordovician trilobites from this site are hard to decipher because of the size of the specimen or the lack of contrast with the matrix. This is not the case with this specimen. This is a large, very displayable Ampyx from England.
