Here is a very nice Ordovician trilobite from China. This trilobite used to be named Yuepingia but is now called Paraszechuanella. This trilobite is wonderfully prone and very nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The well defined bug is inflated and exhibits fine detail. The crescent-shaped eyes are easily seen and the short genal spines are displayed. The dark colored trilobite contrasts superbly with the unusually light-colored matrix. The fossil is presented on a large, semi-rectangular plate of limestone that also contains other trilobite fragments. This is an excellent specimen of Yuepingia from the Ordovician of China.
