Here is a beautiful example of Isotelus latus from the Ordovician of Canada. This species differs from the much more common Isotelus mafritzi by having a more rounded cephalon and pygidium. This trilobite is exquisitely preserved and exhibits fine detail. The very small genal spines are quite evident. The specimen is very nicely articulated. The trilobite has great natural coloration and contrasts wonderfully with the lighter-colored matrix. The fossil is well positioned on a rectangular block of limestone. With less than 1% restoration, this trilobite ranks as one of the finest Isotelus latus ever found.
