This is a wonderful specimen of Bumastus ioxus from the Silurian of New York. There are two complete trilobites and several partial trilobites on the natural slab of matrix. The two complete trilobites are more 3-dimensional than usual and very nicely articulated. The free cheeks of the trilobites are present and tightly attached. The dark brown exoskeleton of the trilobites contrasts nicely with the gray matrix. The trilobites are well positioned on the plate of shale. This is one of the nicest specimens of this trilobite that we have seen. This is a very displayable specimen of Bumastus ioxus from the Rochester Shale.
