Here is an extremely rare trilobite plate. This is a very unusual specimen of Bathyurus extans from the Middle Ordovician of Canada. There are, actually, two Bathyurus specimens on the plate. On the left is a negative (counterpart). Sitting directly beside this trilobite is a large positive specimen. Both specimens are very nicely articulated. The free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The extremely long genal spines extend almost to the pygidium. The trilobites are well positioned on a large, natural, somewhat triangular, block of matrix. A few other trilobite parts are present on the plate. This is a wonderful double specimen of this very rare trilobite.
