Here is a very nice specimen of Comura cometa from the Devonian of Morocco. The trilobite is slightly arched and preserved in a very 3-dimensional manner. The fossil has great, natural, black color and exhibits superb contrast with the light-colored matrix. The trilobite has fine detail and is well positioned on a rounded block of limestone matrix. This relatively uncommon trilobite has extremely long pygidial spines. This specimen has been very well prepared under a microscope in the Extinctions prep lab. Many of the individual eye facets are displayed. The long genal spines are nicely exhibited. This is a wonderful specimen of this unusual species from the Devonian.
