This is one of the most beautiful Greenops trilobites that we have ever seen. This is Greenops barberi from the famous Penn-Dixie Quarry in New York. The trilobite is almost perfectly prone. It is nicely inflated and displays excellent detail. The preparation of this specimen is fantastic. This specimen has absolutely NO RESTORATION. The eyes are near perfect. The individual lenses of the eyes can be seen. Every tail spine is complete and sharply terminated. The genal spines are perfectly preserved. The trilobite has great color and contrast. It is well centered on a large, natural, plate of matrix. What more can be said about a trilobite this fine? It is a fabulous specimen of an unusual species of Greenops.
