This is a wonderful specimen of Scutellum pustulatum. This trilobite is from the Devonian of Morocco. The specimen is nicely articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached. The cephalon and thorax of the trilobite are very prone and the pygidium is tucked downward at a slight angle. The trilobite displays incredible detail. The exoskeleton of the trilobite is extremely pustulose. The eyes are quite noticeable. The long thoracic pleurae terminate in sharp points. The axial lobe of the thorax displays the small nodes that are present on well prepared specimens. The trilobite has a beautiful, natural, brownish color. It contrasts nicely with the lighter colored matrix. The specimen is well presented on a rounded block of limestone. This is a great specimen of a highly ornamented Scutellum.
