Here is a nice Phacopid trilobite. It is a large Reedops maurulus from the Devonian of Morocco. This complete trilobite is EXTREMELY 3-dimensional and nicely articulated. It is well preserved and exhibits fine detail. One of the compound eyes displays most of the individual lenses while the other eye is almost immaculate! This bug is well postured in the famous "crawling off the rock" position. The trilobite has good color (it is actually a little more brownish in color than what the picture shows) and contrasts well with the lighter-colored matrix. It has been prepared in very high relief so that it is elevated above the level of the surrounding rock. This is a great Reedops for the price.
