This is a large specimen of Asaphiscus wheeleri from the Middle Cambrian of Utah. The trilobite is complete and fully articulated. Both free cheeks are present and tightly attached to the cephalon. The specimen exhibits a nice, naturally glossy, exoskeleton. The trilobite displays a healed injury of one segment on the right side of the thorax. The fossil is well centered on the somewhat rounded plate of shale. This is an excellent specimen of Asaphiscus.
