This is a very aesthetic plate of fossil trilobites. This amazing specimen was recently acquired from the renowned Snider Collection. There are two fabulous Asaphid trilobites from the Middle Ordovician of Russia on the slab. The distinct trilobite on the left side of the plate (the smaller one) is Asaphus (Neoasaphus) cornutus. This trilobite has a very wide body style and short eyes. The trilobite on the right (the larger one) is Asaphus (Neoasaphus) punctatus. This species has very long, protruding eyes. The striking trilobites are very prone and wonderfully articulated. The inflated bugs have fabulous, thick shell exoskeleton preserved. The impressive fossils have striking natural color, and are well-showcased on the large, natural-edged plate of matrix. This is simply a beautiful example of a pair different Ordovician trilobites from behind the "Iron Curtain".
