Here is an excellent specimen of Dalmanites limulurus from the Silurian of New York. This large trilobite is perfectly prone and extremely well articulated. The distinct bug is somewhat inflated and exhibits great detail. Both genal spines and the long caudal spine are beautifully preserved and very well displayed. The individual lenses of the protruding, compound eyes are quite evident. The striking trilobite has very nice natural color and contrast and is well showcased on the large, semi-squared plate of shale. This is a fabulous display example of this classic trilobite from New York.
