Name:

This is a very cool association fossil. It is a fine Bumastus ioxus and large Caryocrinites from the Rochester Shale of New York. This trilobite is very 3-dimensional, extremely prone, and very well articulated - both free cheeks are intact and tightly attached. The dark trilobite contrasts beautifully with the light grey matrix. The bug is well showcased on the semi-squared plate of shale that also contains a partial graptolite and an extremely large composited Caryocrinites caylx. This is a very cool display example of two very different classic Silurian fossils.
