This is a very collectible Olenellid trilobite. It is a large Olenellus gilberti from Nevada. This specimen is special because it is a split pair - both the part and counterpart are present, which is quite rare. This trilobite is very inflated, has beautiful natural color, and has exquisite detail preserved. Both fossils display strikingly on the large plates of matrix. This is a textbook positive/negative example of this classic Lower Cambrian trilobite.
