Here is a beautifully prepared Cordania wessmani from the Devonian of Oklahoma. This specimen was found by Steve Hess in 1999 and prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab. The trilobite is very inflated and exhibits fine detail. Because the bug is curled, both the body and the free cheeks are well displayed, which is unusual. The large cephalon is quite evident, and the eyes are easily seen. The beautiful cream-colored bug contrasts well with the lighter-colored matrix. The distinct fossil is beautifully showcased on a large, sculpted limestone base. This is a very displayable specimen of Cordania wessmani with both genal spines free-standing.
