This is a fine example of a very rare US trilobite. It is large Paedeumias yorkense from the Lower Cambrian of York, Pennsylvania. This specimen was found at the classic Old Golf Course Site in the early 1980's, not where some recent York Olenellids have been found. This trilobite is quite complete - both genal spines, the LONG pleural spines, the opisthothorax, and even part of the elusive telson (tailspine) are all present and beautifully showcases. The striking trilobite is very well preserved and inflated, and has great natural color displayed. The trilobite displays very well on the plate of Kinzers shale that also has a distinct growth stage baby Olenellus near the bottom left of the larger one (hard to see in photo). This is an extremely collectible example of a classic Paedeumias yorkense from York County, Pennsylvania.
