This is a very rare Lower Cambrian trilobite. It is a very distinct Olenellus getzi from the classic Kinzers Formation of Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. This MONSTER specimen (SIX INCHES LONG!) was found in the mid-1980s at the Getz Quarry, a site that has been closed and buried under a housing development for years! The trilobite is not perfectly articulated, but is essentially complete. The fossil exhibits outstanding detail - the long, pointed pleural spines are beautifully showcased, and the large, distinct cephalon makes for an impressive display. And the yellow-orange color of the fossil is FULLY NATURAL - beautiful, textbook coloration for the Kinzers Formation. Overall, this is a HUGE, very detailed, and very affordable Olenellus getzi from a locality that has been lost for many years!
