This is an extremely detailed spiny trilobite. It is a large Cyphaspis boutscharafinense from the Devonian of Morocco. This trilobite has been microscopically prepared in the EXTINCTIONS Prep Lab. The trilobite is extremely inflated and very well articulated. The large, bulbous glabella is just covered with distinct pustules, and the long, sweeping genal spines are also pustulous and prepared in a free-standing manner. The stalked eyes and the long thoracic spine have also been painstakingly prepared in free-standing for optimal display. The black bug contrasts wonderfully with the light-colored matrix. The fossil is beautifully showcased on the expertly-sculpted block of limestone. This is a top quality specimen of an ultra-spiny Cyphaspis from Morocco.
