This is a very rare US trilobite. It is large Paedeumias yorkense from the Lower Cambrian of Pennsylvania. This specimen was found in York County, PA, not Lancaster, where most of the Kinzers Olenellids have been found. The distinct trilobite is a counterpart, or negative half of a split pair. The colorful trilobite is very well preserved and extremely detailed. The impressive bug has great contrast and is well showcased on the squared plate of shale that also includes a half a dozen Salterella fossils on both sides of the plate! This is a very fine example of a classic Paedeumias yorkense and Salterella fossils from York County, Pennsylvania.
